I wanted to express my gratitude to everyone who had a hand in
helping me find my soon-to-be husband, especially my Member Representative,
Marla. Without her I would still be single, looking, and lonely. Even after
initially joining I wanted to back out, I felt like I made a big mistake and
that I would not be interested in anyone at GE.
I went through the database and did not find one single person that I would be
interested in and tried to cancel the whole thing. I know now that I was just
scared and being a little stubborn. Marla met with me and reassured me that I
had made the best decision of my life and to keep an open mind. She even
suggested a few members who she thought I would like. Well, that night I went
home to my computer and went through the database again. I was selected by a
member that I would not normally be even remotely interested in but I
remembered Marla's advise to at least meet for a cup of coffee. We met a few
days later and I cannot even describe what happened between us when we first
laid eyes on each other. It was love at first sight for both of us. When we
started talking it was as if we had been friends for years. We dated for a
little over a year before he proposed, which was on New Year's Eve right at
midnight.Our wedding date is set for July 30, 2005.
I really want to thank everyone for their help and encouragement. I can honestly
say that I have found my best friend, my lover, and my companion for life. We
would have never met if it weren't for Great-Expectations.
